Impressions from the Portland Miniature Show

The Portland Miniature Show was my first time attending a show as a participant, and only the second time I had ever attended a miniature show at all, so I went in with an open mind and a lot of excitement for this new experience. It was an honor to be a part of this event, and I had SO MUCH FUN meeting people! If you managed to make it to the show, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. If you were one of the hundreds (!!!) of people I met at my booth, thank you so much for visiting my art and for saying hello while you were there. For me as an artist, it was an experience of growth and I’m still processing what I learned from seeing people interact with my art. Big thanks to everyone who made this show happen, and especially to the Bleau family, and my husband & mom for all their support.

The Unburning

In 1946 Seattle, repairs at the Liberty Hotel uncover something impossible behind an old basement wall. Private Investigator B.B. Wolf follows the evidence into a mystery buried beneath Pioneer Square. The Unburning is a serialized historical supernatural mystery told in monthly installments through letters, case files, photographs, and other evidence, with printable 1:12-scale miniatures that let readers hold pieces of the case as it unfolds.

Evidence Case Files are followed by the associated miniature projects below. To download the miniature projects from The Records Room, you must be subscribed to the email version of this newsletter.

Case Files

The view is from Jackson Street and Commercial (present-day 1st Avenue). Madame Hood’s house would have stood at the far right of this photo. The utter destruction of the neighborhood from the Great Fire of June 6, 1889 is clear.
